A big 'hello' if you've discovered this site as part of a search for 'Transition Towns'.  We are proud to be the catalyst for the Sunshine Coast becoming Australia's first Transition Region and the first outside the UK. The  Transition Movement is rapidly gaining momentum and seems to have captured people's imagination around the world. We are working hard behind the scenes getting teams of people in place to help us deliver on our Transition actions and help implement the Energy Descent Action Plan that's on its way.

We are proud to offer Australia's first energy descent action planning course and much, much more. We are also Australia's first Transition Town

ABOUT SEAC

The Sunshine Coast Energy Action Centre (SEAC), offers information sessions on climate change, peak oil, energy descent planning, relocalisation, permaculture and much, much more - everyone's welcome and it's free.

SEAC offers a creative and positive response to peak oil and climate change by linking together all the aspects needed for sustainable living, by providing free information to the community and by building partnerships with key regional stakeholders.

Our mission is to make a real difference in our local region by providing inspirational education, information, planning and action strategies which will be presented to local government, and by promoting sustainable choices for a low impact, low emission future.

We've brought key groups in the region, including local councils, to be part of the planning and implementation of an Energy Descent Action Plan (EDAP), the next logical step in ‘think global – act local’.

SEAC (‘seek’) is a focal point for information, networking and education for; members of the public, community groups, environmentalists, schools, university students, teachers, academics, the media, businesses, industry, council, state government … in fact SEAC is for anyone interested in being part of positive, community-lead collaborative action that will make a real difference in our region.
